Resonance, Part 2

In the following we will briefly present some characteristics of the process of resonance.

Resonance is a complex phenomenon, based on the resemblance between the two elements that resonate, on selection, and/or on harmonized movement (same vibration).

Resonance knows different degrees: it may be strong (even until the two elements identify with one another) or, on the contrary, weak (simple analogy).

The spatial perception of a resonance phenomenon is usually symmetry, and the temporal perception – simultaneity and synchronicity.

The process of resonance may be homogeneous (the resonating elements belong to the same category: sounds, images, etc) or heterogenous (the complex interaction of the senses, for instance the perception of sounds as colors – colorful audition, or the perception of images as music – sound visualization).

The process of resonance may occur naturally, spontaneously, unconscious or, on the contrary, provoked, searched for, and maintained through conscious attention.

Tantrism says that because all beings, all things originate in the same source (The Absolute, God) they all have an essential common trait, that is the Individual Self (ATMAN), which is identical with The Source of all existence (PARAMATMAN).

It is thus obvious that, as all things and beings are part of the creation, nothing can exist and not have this spark of Divine Consciousness.

In the case of the human being, the main “channels” of resonance are the chakras, the seven centers of force. These centers of force allow the human being to experience different kinds of energies, as well as various levels of vibration and consciousness.

A resonating system or element (in the case of the human being the seven chakras) resembles to an oscillatory circuit.

Such an oscillatory circuit is made to vibrate if we act upon it with another oscillatory circuit, whose energy may be either equal to the previous (and in this case its vibrations will reach the highest intensity), or smaller (case in which its vibrations are not so strong).

The various yoghic techniques represent precise modalities of establishing a process of resonance with different types of universal energies.

the process of resonance eases the way in the understanding of the reason for which some people always succeed in what they have to do, while others obtain just insignificant results.

How Can I Have Multiple Orgasms?

It is customary (nonetheless false) to believe that the masculine orgasm is the same with ejaculation. Let us see what really happens during this process.

If a man makes love and reaches the point of non-return, he will reach the climax and then sink into the stupor of post-ejaculatory abyss. After ejaculation, most men discover that they are at the minimal stage of their ejaculation and that they have to climb back gradually.

However, most men think that the purpose of lovemaking is ejaculation. Ejaculatory orgasm may appear as a passionate race, but after you experience the ecstatic, prolonged bliss of multiple orgasms, this ejaculatory discharge will seem fade and disappointing, unable to stand the comparison.

HOW CAN I HAVE MULTIPLE ORGASMS?
As in the case of any orgasm you experimented so far, you will sense first excitation (either because of a physical stimulus, or because of a thought, fantasy, etc.). This state of excitement usually leads to erection and, if the stimulation begins, you may experience different degrees of excitation, until reaching the “contraction” stage of an orgasm.

This stage is in fact the crossroads, as it may lead either to ejaculation, or to multiple orgasms. During the contraction stage, you may perceive a series of contractions of the prostate gland, each of them lasting from three to five seconds.

Although the intensity of these pleasant pelvic orgasms varies, and they may often be just as intense as the orgasms in the ejaculatory phase, in the beginning they may be moderate.

Now is the moment when you have to decide: instead of going on, continuing to the point of non-return, followed inevitably by ejaculation, or stop for some moments, until you are in control of your excitation rhythm by slowing down your respiratory rhythm and maintaining a calm and attentive attitude.

Another method is to contract your PC muscle around the vibrant prostate, until you gain some control over these spasms. By directing the energy from the area of the genitals on the spine, towards the upper parts of the body, will help you eliminate the pressure and the urge to ejaculate.

The level of the arousal will gradually decrease, preparing another genital orgasm. Such multiple orgasms will lead to a different level of arousal, which builds up each time.

Important note: if you crave for the orgasms in the contractile phase, there is a great risk for you to ejaculate. Most men have discovered that they have to cease all stimulation right before experiencing this type of orgasm.

Many men practicing sexual continence tell how they “withdraw” in non-ejaculatory orgasms instead of rushing on to ejaculate. The idea is to be able to “stay” in this point without reaching the point of non-return. You will thus feel the pleasure of the contractions of the PC muscle, as well as those of the anal muscles.

It is up to each man how close he may get to experience the multiple orgasms from the contraction phase. You will experience waves of ecstatic pleasure, and if your lover is a multi-orgasmic woman, who practices the sexual continence as well, you are heading for paradise, as both of you will experience states of prolonged orgasms.

You no longer need to worry about making your lover orgasm, and then have an orgasm of your own. The two of you rather have the opportunity to experience in the same time intense states of pleasure and happiness.

If you have difficulties in differentiating orgasm from ejaculation, you may start directing the energy up the spine, before reaching ejaculation.
According to the Tantric and Taoist traditions, the key in getting an all-body orgasm is to sublimate the sexual energy.

Once you succeed in sublimating this energy, you will discover in amazement that you experience orgasmic sensations with other parts of your body, ones that you never considered orgasmic before.

The voluntary contraction of the PC muscle is also a great help in increasing your sensitivity of the pelvic area, as well as in controlling the orgasms in the contraction phase.
If you should ejaculate – which may happen while you are in the beginning of this practice – do not feel highly disappointed, not frustrated.

However, such experiences must not repeat too often. Nonetheless, transform them into opportunities to experience and to know better your body and its mechanisms. Remember that practice requires time, and intimacy, both for yourself, and for your lover.

The Yoga of Inner Communion with the Ten Great Cosmic Wisdoms

THE TEN VIDYA-S
In the Tantric vision, the Universe has a pyramidal vibratory structure. Different worlds are placed on different levels or strata. Each stratum has a definite rate of vibration and expresses a definite level of consciousness.

At the top of this gigantic pyramidal structure there are certain Cardinal Foci of Energy (Vidya-s) symbolically called “Cosmic Wisdoms” or “Goddesses”, which have a paramount role in creating, maintaining and reabsorbing the Cosmos.

The disciplines that lead to the inner communion with these Cosmic Wisdoms are known as Maha Vidya Yoga or Shri Vidya Yoga. These are the supreme fundamental ways (paths) of profound knowledge and wisdom.

The Tantric tradition is characterized by the central place given to the Everlasting Female Archetype, the Supreme Goddess, the Mother of the Universe, i.e. the essential femaleness as a creative and dynamic Power which complements the stillness of the Consciousness.

In this vision, each female is a Shakti. She embodies and manifests the secret fundamental subtle forces which animate and control the Cosmos.

The Tantric adepts see the whole Cosmos, with its visible and invisible worlds, as a Supreme Mother Goddess (Parashakti), which holds ultimate and omnipotent power over the cosmic manifestation and over all creatures.

At the human scale, all women are parts of the Cosmic Goddess. The Ultimate Consciousness (Shiva) is grasped through Shakti.

It can be said that the Ten Great Feminine Cosmic Wisdoms (Dasha Maha Vidya-s) are the ten fundamental aspects of the Supreme Cosmic Mother’s personality. Nevertheless, each Goddess has a specific cosmic function in the universal harmony.

The traditional sequence of the ten Goddesses is:

  • KALI – The Wisdom of Time and The Night of Eternity
  • TARA – The Wisdom of Void and The Night of Anger
  • TRIPURA SUNDARI – The Wisdom of Absolute Splendor
  • BHUVANESHWARI – The Wisdom of Space and The Night of Perfect Realization
  • TRIPURA BHAIRAVI – The Wisdom of Death and The Night of Destiny
  • CINNAMASTA – The Wisdom of Sacrifice and The Night of Courage
  • DHUMAVATI – The Wisdom of Deprivation and The Night of Frustration
  • BAGALAMUKHI – The Wisdom of Instantaneous Stopping
  • MATANGI – The Wisdom of Domination and The Night of Illusion
  • KAMALATMIKA – The Wisdom of Perfect Happiness and The Night of Paradise

The cluster of the ten Maha Vidya-s reflects the dynamic unity of existence, in which all aspects of life – the darkest, the purest, the most forceful and the inert – are combined to form a whole, a vision of unity in diversity.

DEFINITION OF “WORSHIP”
The esoteric Tantric Tradition states that:

‘The highest form of worship (Param Puja) is not offering flowers, etc., to any image, but it is the grasp of the true nature of [the Deity as being the] Self. It does not need any definite place or time: it is to be performed wherever and whenever possible’

We uses the term “worship” with this meaning. In this way only, worship leads to spiritual knowledge, which imply the unification of subject and object by the relation of identity (samyama).

Maha Vidya Yoga consists in fact of ten different ways (paths) of understanding ourselves and the Universe through identification with ten fundamental energies-consciousness of the Cosmos.

Therefore our purpose is self-knowledge through specific ways which are related to our affinity i.e., which best fit our personality. Tantra reveals that the Supreme Being can be reached in anyone of these Cosmic Foci of Wisdom.

Consciousness and Quantum Mechanics, Part 2

“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.”

Albert Einstein

CONSCIOUSNESS AND MIND MANIFEST THEMSELVES AT A QUANTUM LEVEL
There is the possibility that the brain and consciousness interact at a quantum level.

  • Alfred Alokta, the pioneer in the field of quantum consciousness issued the hypothesis that the quantum states in the brain directly influence the activity of the neurons.
  • The topic of a network of quantum connections in the brain is quite indicated, owing to the phenomena of quantum association. The American Evan Walker presented a model of synaptic tunneling of the brain electrons.
  • Thus the brain is defined by two superimposed systems: a classical system, governed by classical laws, and a quantum system, governed by quantum laws. The first system corresponds to the unconscious cerebral activities, while the second corresponds to the consciousness and to conscious mental processes.

Some special states of the matter, such as the Bose-Einstein condensates may in fact be ways of passage of the mind in and from the physical, exterior world.

It is a proven fact that on a biological level there are certain special structures named the Bose-Einstein condensates. This condensates presents interest for our study because it is the most organized structure in the universe (before their discovery, this title belonged to the crystals).

In such a structure, the atoms oscillate together, as one. The constituent particles are perfectly identical, up to a point in which they lose their own identity.

Two examples of Bose-Einstein condensates are the laser wave (in which the photons act as one photon) and the over-conduciveness phenomenon (phenomenon occurring in certain materials, at very low temperatures).

These structures are highly sensitive to quantum phenomena, and they have the capacity of transmitting influences from a quantum level to a cellular level. The quantum state of the particles is non-material; it does not respect the laws of classical physics, but it has a paradoxical nature, more resembling to the mind.

In the quantum state of a particle, it is not material aspect that is important, but the information it carries.

The English Herbert Froelich (1960) proved the existence of Bose-Einstein condensates in the cellular walls, in the living matter; these may amplify and memorize the information. Inside the neurons, the BE condensates may influence the release of information, having a tremendously important role in neuronal intelligence.

PART 4   |   PART 5   |   PART 6

Consciousness and Quantum Mechanics, Part 3

3. The duality corpuscle/wave hints to the duality body/mind.

Unlike the quantum physics, the classical physics cannot analyze consciousness and emotions, as is the case of quantum physics.

Descartes considered the mind and body as totally separated. Newton’s classical physics is based on Descartes thinking, describing the exterior world as perceived through the senses.

It is a science of pure objectivity, and its shortcoming is that the consciousness is subjective through its nature and therefore out of the reach of classical physics.

On the other hand, in modern physics, the concept of matter has changed. The duality corpuscle/wave indicates that any particle has an immaterial quantum state and this leads to the idea of body/mind duality. Just like the particle is inseparable from the wave, the mind and body form a whole.

4. Fundamental particles have a quantum component, immaterial and impossible to express in the terms of classical physics – the particle has a dual nature, both mental and material.

The quantum state of a particle is non-material. It does not respect the laws of classical physics, it rather has a paradoxical nature, quite resembling to the laws governing the mental area. In the quantum state of a particle, it is not its material aspect that is most important, but the information. It is a reduction of the material to the pure, sheer information.

5. The consciousness is manifested in this quantum reality, it is intimately connected with the outer, “material” universe, without having direct access to it.

Paradoxically, manifesting at the level of the quantum states of the matter, the consciousness does not have direct access to the objective, exterior, observable world.

Bertrand Russell stated the fact that these states are always perceived at the quantum, “immaterial” level of the matter. With each observation it makes on these states, the consciousness induces/introduces an alteration.

“Observing means altering” – and thus the consciousness has a double function, both observing and influencing the objective world. The sensations are transmitted to the consciousness through the “scanning” of the quantum states of the neurons in the brain, and in the same time it performs the transmission of the commands to the brain.

The English Herbert Froelich (1960) proved the existence of Bose-Einstein condensates in the cellular walls, in the living matter; these may amplify and memorize the information. Inside the neurons, the BE condensates may influence the release of information, having a tremendously important role in neuronal intelligence.

6. The mind is not subject to the speed of light. At a quantum level, knowledge means touch. When two particles touch each other, they stay coupled. By acting upon one, the other is affected. Thus, a quantum, super-luminic interconnection is achieved.

Let us have an experiment: assume that we have a 0-spin particle, which is divided in two particles, each of spin. In this case, owing to the conservation law of the spin, if one particle has an upward spin, the other is forced to have a downward spin.

Moreover, let us assume that we bring these particles at a great distance from one another. The quantum physics tells us that until we measure these particles, they will be in an over-position of possible states.

When we measure one of them, the other is forced towards the opposite value – if one has upwards spin, the other has to have downward spin.

Now follows the paradoxical part: how is it possible that one particle knows what happens to the other, despite the distance between them? We know that in this “objective” world, nothing may be transmitted with a speed greater than the speed of light.

Nonetheless, we may see that the quantum information traveled instantaneously. This famous experiment, known as the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen experiment (in short, the EPR experiment), proves that the quantum information is not subject to the speed of light. The two quantum coupled particles communicate instantaneously to one another, regardless of the distance.

The collapse of the wave function of one particle determined the collapse of the second one, in accordance with the spin laws.

Consequently, the consciousness perceived at this quantum level, transcends space and time and is not limited to the speed of light, as the rest of the phenomena that occur within the objective reality.

The world of consciousness is free from the constraints of the material world. The thought is instantaneous, as it is not limited by the speed of light.

PART 4   |   PART 5   |   PART 6

Consciousness and Quantum Mechanics, Part 4

7. The brain is made of billions of neurons that act in parallel, but the mental process allows one conscious thought at a time. At a quantum level, however, the neurons are integrated in a mental quantum field that organizes them into a unitary whole, as a common denominator.

The brain is like a moneymarket hall, except that in this case there are billions of participants (the neurons) which communicate to each other in a simultaneous manner. However, we perceive conscious thought as a unitary process.

On the other side, the consciousness is unitary and indissoluble; it can only focus on one thought, emotion or sensation on one time. How could this contradiction between the function of the brain and that of the consciousness be explained?

The physicist Ian Marshall (1989) issued a theory according to which the quantum states present in neurons are in phase on the level of the whole brain – a quantum effect due to consciousness.
This quantum connection of the neurons is capable of integrating the billions of elements in a unitary whole, to impose order and structure in chaos.

The consciousness is not a propriety that results from the annexation of a great number of neurons in a complex network (as the partisans of the “emerging consciousness” sustain). On the contrary, the consciousness sustains and structures the brain in a coherent manner. The “magic” of the thought and feeling perceptions through the brain is ultimately due to the consciousness.

8. The mind creates the brain and not viceversa.

Paradoxically, billions of neurons are interconnected in the most complex intelligent structure known to man. How can this miracle be? How can a single cell produce through multiplication and interconnections a finite “product” of such fine complexity – the human being?

The probability for the human body to take precisely this particular shape is the same with the probability for thousands of bricks thrown at chance to fall on the ground in the shape of a house.

The English biologist Rupert Sheldrake issued the theory of the so-called “morphogenetic fields”. It starts with the assumption that the mind is an essential reality as compared to the physical body or the brain.

In the moment of birth, the mind creates a “form field” that moulds the development of the brain, and even of the whole human body. It is not logical to consider that a pile of bricks (the human cells) all by themselves may organize themselves in an exquisite “palace” (the human body), and all this through an accident. This is highly unlikely.

On the other hand, the existence of form fields, the formative role, and the precedence of the mind over the body provide a much plausible explanation.
These form fields were perceived for the first time in the study of the development of the fetus and underlined by various experiments.

These experiments indicate the fact that on a certain level of the universe, the morphogenetic information corresponding to each species is transmitted to and from each member of that particular species, evolving in time.

There is no part of the brain in control with body or mental functioning. If a section of the brain is removed, its role goes to the rest of the brain. Consequently, the function is not dependent on neurons, but the neurons are molded according to the function they have to play. The neurons are molded by the consciousness itself.

9. Some physicists have gone even further, suggesting that the consciousness is an intrinsic phenomenon of the matter, fundamental in nature.

Some physicists have gone even further with this assumption, suggesting that consciousness is an intrinsic phenomenon of the matter, fundamental in nature. The American Nick Herbert considered that the consciousness is ever present in the nature. In this theory, the mind is just as fundamental a concept as the elementary particles.

The quantum properties that justify this presumption are:

  • The intrinsic ambiguity – the fact that the attributes of the objects are not definite until the moment of observation.
  • Free will – the fact that there is an aleatory degree in every quantum process, a degree of chance and unpredictable.
  • Instantaneous connectivity – the interconnection between quantum phenomena does not depend on the speed of light, is instantaneous and works regardless of the distance.

PART 4   |   PART 5   |   PART 6

Consciousness and Quantum Mechanics, Part 5

AT A QUANTUM LEVEL, THE CONSCIOUSNESS EXPRESSES ITS FREE WILL
The quantum physics has reached this amazing result: in nature, there is a degree of incertitude involved in each process.

From Newton and Descartes, most of the scientific community and almost the whole of the Western society embarked on the hypothesis that the evolution of each system (including man) is completely determined, step by step by its previous state.

Thus, the conclusion that one may precisely determine the future if perfectly acquainted with the past emerged.

In other words, if we were to program a powerful computer with all the data it requires, we may even simulate perfectly the evolution of the universe in general, and of the human being in particular.

However, in the end this assumption is quite a big mistake. The recent discoveries in modern physics did not validate the concept of “determinism”.

They proved that certain phenomena, connected with the quantum level of reality can not by predicted. They are the so-called “incalculables”. Each quantum phenomena includes a degree of freedom.

Each time the wave function collapses, the result has a chance degree.
This may be associated with the free will, which is non-deterministic.

The particle may reach a final state that does not depend on its past. In other words, a “free choice” is allowed.

Heisenberg’s principle explains this degree of freedom. He proved that nobody could perfectly accurately observe a particle. We either know precisely its position, but not its trajectory, or we know precisely and accurately its trajectory, but we do not know its position.

This limit in observation induces an intrinsic degree of incertitude, an imprecision at a theoretical level, a degree of indetermination in each act of observation.

Modern physics allows the concept of free will even at the most fundamental level, contrasting to the deterministic theory of Newton and Descartes, which consider that faith is decided from the start, and in an inexorable manner.

This change of heart reinstates the free will, that is – the possibility of each human being of influencing one’s own faith and not be subject to a blind destiny.

This view of free will has always been a part of the Tantric philosophy. The Tantric practitioner accepts the idea of karma, but he also considers that the evil that has not yet become manifested can and should be removed.

According to the Tantric philosophy, the degree of spiritual evolution of a human being is directly proportional with the degree of freedom that being has. At the ultimate level, God is defined as SVATANTRIA – supreme, absolute freedom, free from any constraint.

The degree of freedom of a certain person is quite relevant to what his/her spiritual evolution is concerned.

For instance, a person who tends to be subject to all kinds of social dogmas, without thinking them over first, who is ready to take over already “thought” ideas without filtering through his/her own mind shows a reduced degree of inner freedom.

Spiritual freedom is in tight connection with the concept of free will. Spiritual freedom is not related to not being imprisoned in a cell, but to being capable to think for oneself, without any limitations.

Being free from mental and psychic chains is much more important than exterior freedom.

Consciousness and Quantum Mechanics, Part 6

Tantra sivasakti.com/local/tantra/

ALL IS ONE, THE ONLY REALITY
1. The one that observes cannot be separated from the observed phenomena or from the act itself. The universe is a holographic whole.

Any action of observing or measuring affects the system, and consequently we are never “outside” the system we observe.

Any act of knowledge is made up of three parts: the subject, the object and the act of knowing. The act of knowing connects the subject and the object.

Nowadays people consider that usually the subject and the object are separated and distinct. Nonetheless, the quantum physics indicates that the distinction subject-object becomes impossible even at a theoretical level.

Consequently, we cannot speak of one or the other, but we can speak of the system made of the two.

Tantra considers the outer world (objects) and the self (subject) have the same ultimate nature, acting as an inseparable whole – this is the principle of unity within diversity and diversity within unity.

There are some theories discussing the holographic nature of the universe – each part reflects in the others, and all of them form a unitary whole.

In holography, a three dimensional image of an object is filmed with a laser. The amazing part is that any part of the holographic picture may be used to recreate the whole image.

Tantra sivasakti.com/local/tantra/

Each part of the holographic picture contains the whole image. In the holographic theory of the universe, the universe is represented by each component, regardless of the size.

Tantra considers that the human being has inside all that there is in the universe and that through meditation a person may get to the ultimate knowledge of the whole universe.

This knowledge of the outer universe through focus inside is a landmark in Tantra. The asanas and the ascension of the energy Kundalini through all the seven centers of force (chakras) contribute to the knowledge of the outer universe.

This is possible mainly because of the holographic nature of the universe. The practical means through which we may access any part of the universe is the process of resonance.

The subtle (quantum) body instantaneously resonates with any aspect of the universe. The resonance brings about the direct knowledge of the universe.

2. The quantum level of the matter presents a state of unity of all possibilities. It is a harmonious state within an indivisible whole, but this cannot be observed, because we always see only one possibility.

The American Henry Stapp indicated that in the quantum physics, unlike the classical physics, the whole and the part are intimately related.

Tantra sivasakti.com/local/tantra/

A particle that is in a quantum overpositioning of states experiences a state of unity of all its possibilities. This indicates that the quantum level of reality is closely connected with what Tantra names the state of ONE, non-duality.

Tantra considers this state of uniqueness as the source of both beginning and the end of the universe, the highest state of consciousness.

The yogis name this state TURYA and describe it as a state of consciousness in which the object, the subject and the act of knowing are no longer separated, but they are unified, in a transcendence of the subjective and of the objective.

3. Although at an empirical level, the exterior world appears as continuous and the consciousness appears as discontinuous, the reality of the quantum level is quite the opposite.

Where did the term quantum physics come from? During the early days of this theory, one of its first discoveries was that the energy contained in one atom cannot take just any value, but only certain so called “discreet” values.

In other words, we are not confronted with a smooth, continuous passing, but with a passing in “heaps”, on a scale of energetic values.

This process bears the name “quantification”. Although the outer world appears continuous to us, in fact recent discoveries indicate that it is quantified. There are minimal quanta of energy, electrical charge, and even time and space.

Tantra sivasakti.com/local/tantra/

On the other hand, from an empirical point of view, the consciousness appears to us as divided and discontinuous, with moments of disruption, blanks, such as the sleep with no dreams, moments from which we come with no memories.

On the other hand, the Tantric practitioners, entering the state of expansion of the consciousness and non-duality (TURYA) have noticed that this state is continuous and uninterrupted.

In other words, the outer world is discontinuous and the consciousness is continuous, contrary to the appearances.

An Unified Theory of Consciousness, Part 4

WHY SEXUALITY?

In the act of lovemaking the
couple embodies the dyadic wholeness of the Supreme. Tantric
sexual union resonates with the very foundational energies of
the Universe: it captures, magnifies and re-directs the essential
Cosmic Power of Life. It is therefore not by chance that sexual
intercourse brings the most intense emotional experience that the
human being can have while in the flesh. Therefore Tantra
uses it predominantly to create that overwhelming unifying
energy. The erotic impulse stirs up the Kundalini
energy so that it can rise, through the subtle duct of power
along the spine, to the highest center of power above the
head. This process renders the adept immortal:

"Loss of semen is loss
of power.  Exposure to sexual stimulation arouses this
power; controlled the power is like steam in a boiler, no
longer random."

"The Yogin
who can protect his Bindu (semen),
overcomes death; because death comes by discharging Bindu,
and life is prolonged by its preservation."

Hatha
Yoga Pradipika,
III, 87

"Bindu
is under the control of the mind, and life is dependent
on Bindu.  Hence, Mind and Bindu
should be protected by any means."

Hatha Yoga
Pradipika
, III, 89

In this vision, intercourse
becomes a genuine cosmic process at the level of the unified
microcosms of the couple, who tries to reproduce the cosmic union
of Shiva and Shakti,
i.e. of Consciousness and Energy.

  "In Yamala
or ViraYogini
tradition [Tantric schools],
there is physical union (Samghatta)
between Vira (the male) and Yogini
(the female). The purpose is only to stimulate NityaAnanda
(the eternal beatitude) by means of the contact of the sex
organs. This contact gives intense delight [for the body and
spirit].

A text by Abhinavagupta

In this sacred act a savant
analogy intervenes where physical postures (Asana-s),
gestures (Mudra-s), colors, sounds
(Mantra-s), musical rhythms and
perfumes blend to create a paradise-like
environment. Thus, intercourse serves a purpose much
superior to that of sensuality.  his precise analogical
correspondence leads to a profound intermixing between the level
of the chaotic multiplicity in which we live and the Unique
Macrocosmic Reality.  Through frantic super-sensual fusion
of the subtle complementary principles, man and woman realize the
alchemical sublimation of the sexual energy. This phenomenon,
which leads to a gradual liberation from the painful limitations
of Space and Time that restrain terrestrial life, propels man and
woman towards the cosmic ecstasy (Samadhi).

ORGASM AND EJACULATION

Stated with extreme simplicity,
orgasm is an intensely beatific state of consciousness and
canceling of ego, with profound harmonizing, relaxing and
regenerative effects.  Male and female ejaculation is only a
complex physiological process of explosively energetic discharge
with a dim manifestation of a brief, incipient orgasm,
experienced in a selfish unilateral way.  During
ejaculation, the energy is quickly wasted and for no purpose
(except when conception is wanted).

THE CHOICE IS YOURS

The most important differences
between an ordinary orgasm with ejaculation and Tantric
successive orgasms without ejaculation are
illustrated in the following comparative analysis:

ORDINARY
ORGASM

(with ejaculation)

TOTAL
SUCCESSIVE ORGASMS

(without
ejaculation)

Explosion
(outward-bursting energy). Inevitably, the erotic energy
is lost permanently and uselessly. The intensity of a
following sexual act diminishes greatly compared to what
was felt at the beginning.
Implosion
(inward-bursting energy). The erotic energy sublimates
and is transmuted in ever more refined forms of energy
which are gradually accumulated in the depths of our
being, producing extremely refined and intense states of
pleasure and expanded consciousness. The intensity of the
following sexual acts increase constantly and do not
diminish in the end.
Lasts a very
short time, creating a nostalgic state of frustration due
to the partial lack of fulfillment (especially for women,
who need a long time to reach the peak of excitement).
Beyond time,
lasting indefinitely therefore is contiguous with
Infinity. Ocean-like state of beatific fulfillment felt
by BOTH man and woman as a shared feeling of happiness
and joy of living which expands the perception of
pleasure. The two lovers become gradually aware of the
God(dess) within. Man can share woman’s multi-orgasmic
capacity without losing the erection.
In the physical
body only.
Inside as well
as outside the physical body, in the subtle invisible
body and in the surrounding environment. All beings and
objects seem to make love at the same time.
Playing with
the other.
Playing within
yourself with a simultaneous, telepathic perception of
the other through empathy, "I feel the other
as if he/she is myself."
Dependency. Independence.
The other "disappears" due to the spontaneous transfiguration.
Both man and woman expand endlessly their merged
consciousness into the Universe.
Woman
passive/man active.
Woman
active/man passive.
Heavy
breathing.
Easy, calm and
quiet breathing.
A reflex or
instinctual act leading to loss of control, an
unconscious, animalistic, irrepressible experience.
Hyper-conscious
and fully controlled act leading gradually to ecstatic,
erotic abandon and happiness which lasts as long as two
to three days after a successful Tantric
experience.
Chaotic
movement.
Non-movement
followed by slow wavelike movements to which the other’s
body answers tenderly and insatiably in a perfect
harmony.
Limited sexual
availability due to the exhaustion which follows
ejaculation. This leads gradually to a state of permanent
fatigue and drowsiness which can manifest as instinctive repulsion
for the other or as lack of self-esteem.
Unlimited
sexual availability making possible an overwhelming
erotic experience of a paramount intensity which can last
eight to ten hours without interruption –providing
that BOTH man and woman perfectly yet effortlessly
control the sexual energy. The erotic vitality of the
couple amplifies leading to a clear state of inner power
and of complete sexual fulfillment.
Fear of
undesired pregnancy. The use of contraceptives has many
unhealthy side-effects such as hormonal imbalances
leading to obesity.
Complete
freedom of any restrictions or fears. Because of the
total semen retention irrespective of the duration of the
sexual act, pregnancy is out of the question when
undesired. Man becomes a completely safe lover and his
woman will never have to use contraceptives when she
makes love with him. This leads to a totally natural
birth control.
Attachment,
selfish desire, possessiveness and jealousy.
Detachment,
desire transcended into fulfillment, leading to a state
of peace with oneself and of tender happiness which
overflows to other human beings as love and compassion.
Due to the huge
loss of sexual energy, the sexual experiences become less
and less fulfilling and, through a reflex mechanism, the
psycho-mental potential decreases.
Due to the
complete transmutation and sublimation of the sexual
power, the psycho-mental potential is increased leading
to the awakening of paranormal powers (telepathy,
clairvoyance, etc.). A state of overwhelming euphoria
grows gradually, opening the couple to positive,
affectionate feelings. Dramatic increasing of vitality
leading to the shortening of the need for sleep and
awakening of the creative imagination and lucidity. Man’s
virility and woman’s pluri-level multi-orgasmic capacity
awakens and amplifies to the highest extent, leading to
ever more fulfilling sexual experiences.
The dynamics of
the couple decreases with time and desire transforms
quickly into habit. Monotony kills the desire and the
relationship becomes ever more trivial.
The dynamics of
the couple is enriched every day with new and amazing
discoveries of the other’s inner world and, through
reflection, of one’s own inner profile. Desire transforms
gradually into genuine and pure love, a feeling
rarely known by humans and which grows constantly, fed
with new and unexpectedly delicious experiences. Habit
cannot survive due to the hyper-intense and spontaneous living
in the ever-changing present
.

CONCLUSION

In Tantra,
sexual union is one of the possibilities offered to man and woman
to concentrate and direct the consciousness’s activity toward the
Supreme Being. Due to the enormous intensity of this union, the
consciousness of both partners develops and fuses, at the
beginning between themselves and later with the Cosmic
Consciousness. The indescribable beatitude then felt embraces all
things and beings. All that still subsists is a never-ending
thirst for unity, only a Lover and a Loved-one.

Tantra
is a genuine and exceptional form of yoga
which puts sexuality in its right place, recreating the missing
spiritual dimension of the sexual experience. This practice
expands the human consciousness to the greatest extent and
considerably enriches the knowledge of Man and the Universe. At
the same time, through the surprising links established among
apparently heterogenous phenomena and scientific facts, Tantra
opens the road toward infinite horizons, where many extraordinary
discoveries wait for the tireless practitioner.

Awakened Consciousness, Part 3

by George I.Gurdijeff

PART 3
There is also the possibility of being awakened by mechanical means. A man may be awakened by an alarm clock. But the trouble is that a man gets accustomed to the alarm clock far too quickly, he ceases to hear it.

Many alarm clocks are necessary and always new ones. Otherwise a man must surround himself with alarm clocks which will prevent him sleeping.

But here again there are certain difficulties. Alarm clocks must be wound up. In order to wind them up one must remember about them.

In order to remember about them one must wake up often. But what is still worse, man gets used to all these alarm clocks and after a certain time he only sleeps better for them. Therefore alarm clocks must be constantly changed, new ones must be continually invented.

In the course of time this may help a man to awaken. But there is very little chance of a man doing all the work of winding up, inventing, and changing clocks all by himself, without outside help.

It is much more likely that he will begin his work and that it will afterwards unnoticeably pass into sleep, and in sleep he will dream of inventing alarm clocks, of winding them up and changing them, and simply sleep all the sounder for it.

Therefore, in order to awaken, a combination of efforts is needed. It is necessary that somebody wakes the man up. It is necessary that somebody looks after the man who wakes him. It is necessary to have alarm clocks and it is also necessary continually to invent new alarm clocks.

But in order to achieve all this and to obtain results a certain number of people must work together. One man alone can do nothing.

Before anything else, he needs help. But help cannot come to one man alone. Those who are able to help put a great value to their time.

And, of course, they would prefer to help, say, twenty or thirty people who want to awake rather that only one man.

Moreover, one man can easily deceive himself about his awakening and make awakening simply a new dream. If several people decide to struggle together against sleep, they will wake each other.

Therefore a man who wants to awake must look for other people who also want to awake and work together with them. This, however, is easier said that done because to start such a work and to organize it requires a knowledge which a sleeping man cannot possess.

The work must be organized and have an awakened leader. Only then can it produce the results expected from it. Without these conditions no efforts can result in anything whatever. Men may torture themselves, but those tortures will not make them awake.

This is most difficult of all for certain people to understand. By themselves and by their own initiative they may be capable of great efforts and great sacrifices. But because their first effort and their first sacrifice ought to be obedience, nothing on Earth will induce them to obey another.

They do not want anybody to tell them what to do. And they do not want to reconcile themselves to the thought that all their efforts and all their sacrifices are thus useless.

Work must be organized. And it can be organized only by a man who knows its problems and its aims, who knows its methods; by a man who has in his time passed through such organized work himself.
